From extrusion to folded fin, skived, forged or stamped; IDP's Thermal Division has the solutions you are looking for. Our facility has over 30 years of heatsink expertise in design and fabrication. Through our extrusion partnerships, we are able to provide you product faster than any other factories in the industry. With prototype lead times between 2 to 5 days from solid and production between 3 to 6 weeks, it is no wonder IDP has become an industry favorite to its Customers. IDP has the ability to machine your products in our prototyping cells from solid stock aluminum and copper. We stock many common bar sizes in house and utilize our customers 3D files with our CAD/CAM Engineering software to help shorten lead times. If you don’t have a profile currently under production, try looking at some of ours! We have many different custom shapes tooled up that you can design from. These shapes are located on our website in the Extrusion Profiles tab and are available to view at any time!

Not all needs can be met with Extrusions and IDP understands this. We also manufacture folded fin, bonded fin, fin pack, and pin fin heatsinks per customer requirements. Between aluminum and copper folded fin, we are able to create units that thermally out perform standard extrusions and shapes available. All of our materials are ROHS compliant and we can bond/glue all units right here in house. Folded fin heatsinks can provide fin thickness' between .005" to .010" of an inch. These fins are much less then half the size of standard extrudability.

Most of our customers use copper folded fin heatsinks because they perform up to twice as well as aluminum! These copper heatsinks can be nickel plated for solderabilty and protection. While many customers start their projects out milling from solid material in small quantities, a customer can save a substantial amount of money by switching to extrusion in production quantities. IDP has the experience to tweak in and account for added material to make sure your product comes out correct to print every time. Along with stamping and forming, IDP can laser cut your product. IDP can assemble and install hardware as well as provide professional finishing to your production including: paint, powder coat, anodize, silk screening, and part marking.
